On Debian >Jessie you need to install libssl1.0.0 manualy, in this post I show you how to do so.

Install the required libssl1.0.0 from Debian Jessie

Download libssl1.0.0 from Debian Jessie from packages.debian.org

After that install it with dpkg:

As of today it was:

pushd .
cd ~/Downloads/
wget http://security.debian.org/debian-security/pool/updates/main/o/openssl/libssl1.0.0_1.0.1t-1+deb8u7_amd64.deb
sudo dpkg -i ~/Downloads/libssl1.0.0_1.0.1t-1+deb8u7_amd64.deb
